Ken Young
KEN YOUNG is a graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Music Education and has pursued graduate studies at Penn State University. Mr. Young taught instrumental music at the middle school level for 33 years and is currently retired and doing freelance trumpet work from symphonic to jazz, to church to ‘you name it’.
In addition to brass quintet arrangements, he has arranged
compositions for middle school concert band and elementary jazz
band. He is Founder of the brass quintet, ‘The Blair County
Brassworks,’ and a member of the International Trumpet Guild.
Mr. Young resides in Altoona, PA with wife, Catherine (a high school
choral instructor for 36 years).
