Submission Formatting Guidelines

Some tips to save everyone time.

When submitting your score, it makes the review process faster and easier if you use the following guidelines, which are specific for Sibelius® but can also be applied to other Notation programs:

PHYSICAL SETTINGS/PAGE LAYOUT

  • Paper Size: 8 1/2 x 11 (US Letter Size)
  • Staff Size: ~24
  • Page Margins: at least 0.6 inches all sides
  • Staff Margins: at least 1 inch top & bottom

SCORE DETAILS

  • No "Jazz" or "Handwritten" fonts for text or music.
  • Detailed copyright information must appear on the Title page.
  • Complete composer information must appear on the Title page, including the original composer's name and dates (for arrangements).
  • Metronomic markings must be indicated.
  • If the work is a medley or compilation, individual titles should be included wherever the tune first occurs.



WHAT TO SUBMIT - Electronic Submissions Only

  • SIBELIUS® USERS [Preferred]
    • Email your .sib file
    • Email any live recordings (opt.)
    • Email any program notes
    • Include your contact information
    • Do not send compressed files (.zip, etc.)

  • FINALE® USERS
    • Email your .mus file
    • Email A PDF of your score (to clarify the conversion to Sibelius®)
    • Email any live recordings (opt.)
    • Email any program notes
    • Include your contact information
    • Do not send compressed files (.zip, etc.)

  • NOTEWORTHY COMPOSER USERS
